1 down, 14 to go...

I have survived one week as a senior! Hooray. Some ups, some downs, but it was a good enough start. Here's a play by play preview of what I'll be posting sketches, WIPs, and various other tidbits of throughout the next couple months.

1. Two very fabulous drawings/paintings on paper related to the "natural" and "unnatural". Not sure about the details yet, but there's sure to be beautiful boys. There always is.

2. Paaaaintings. My group was drawn to display first in the "preview" gallery shows, so I'm working on putting that together for the next week and a half. But after that, the paint will be a flyin'. AND I'll put up pictures of our gallery show. It's gonna be hot.

3. Some crafty business. Fiber arts for the next 8 weeks. But it'll still be fabulous.

4. PRINTS. I'm retaking Printmaking for elective credit and got permission to use it as independent study time instead of repeating all the demos. I'm working on a really cool idea that will result in A LOT of prints. Fun.

And of course writing my thesis, but I won't bore anyone with that. More pretty boys, less talky.

All byyyy myseeeelf

Last day of summer! How sad. I've been doing noooothing all day, for the last time until christmas. Even at christmas I'll probably be frantically busy. :(

Joker is now on Etsy, linked on the left there.

I'll continue making bleach things off and on, but at a slower pace than I have been. I'm sure my lungs will thank me.

So! Next up on my social agenda is Sept 12th at the WOW storefront gallery. Be there! I will be. WOW is on hollywood blvd a couple blocks down from highland. You can google it. There will be music, booze, me, and lots of fabulous art themed around Dolly Parton. So boobies too. If you go, I'll be the redhead probably wearing gold and black snakeskin pants. Say hi.

Catfight

So how fabulous was project runway? I do love me some drag queens. And total failure outfits, which there's been a LOT of this season. When I look back at the first season, once the shower curtain outfit and star's tumor dress were weeded out, there weren't too many hot messes. Not the majority at least. But this season has been more fun for the total wrecks than any amazing outfits. Being a snarky bitch, I'm cool with this.

Speaking of bitches, if you don't frequent the project rungay blog, you must see the interview with Hedda Lettuce HERE.

My summer is over on MONDAY. So sad. I will, of course, be producing a TON of work because of that, but I can't put any of it up for sale. So I dunno how much new stuff will be available in the next 6 months.

I'm also pondering having a drawing for some free stuff. We'll see.

Until then, I leave you with a reminder that I have an ebay auction up HERE and there has been much added to my etsy shop over on the left.

It's a bad obsession...

Moooore? Oh my.

Frankie! I love this one.

Robert Plant. Om nom nom.

Jon Bon Jovi

Aaaand a girl from another online community I'm in recently sat next to Shatner on a plane, so from all the Shat-Love that was going around, I did a quickie of him too.

All are in my etsy shop, linked at the left. I have so many ideas left to do! Good thing I have so much jersey. I think Nikki Sixx will be next. Hm. Yes.

bleach as far as the eye can see

I have a huuuuge supply of jersey now, so I've been going crazy with the bleach.

8.5x11"

11x13"

I've left them unmounted so they can be hung/framed or sewn into a bag/top/whatever. Lots more to come! I've got Robert Plant, Frank-n-Furter, and Andy Warhol ready to photograph and list. Bowie and Ville are in my etsy to the left. Yay.

pick a card, any card

I'm still wildly in love with my custom guitar picks, but I needed some biz cards for more casual handing out. I'm not made of money with those picks. :P

Hot. And I can write shit on the back of these. Who wouldn't want Billy Idol on their biz cards?

much love for action transvestites

Soooo tonight was Eddie Izzard's last performance of his one man show Stripped. And it was fabulous, of course. Even with our crappy seats it was piss your pants funny and so fucking smart at the same time. He's got some really brilliant ways of explaining things dealing with history, politics, and especially religion that are more than worth getting the DVD if you missed the show this year. :)

I made these a couple weeks ago, both are on Etsy.

2x3", oil on panel with gold highlights in his hair.

ACEO (2.5x3.5") oil on primed illustration board. I really really love this one, hope whoever buys it loves it as much as I do.

Someday I'll make a "proper" eddie painting. I need a big one for my wall. He's one of my most favorite people in the world by far.

I won't spoil any of the jokes for those yet to see it, but he talked A LOT about religion this year, and I love love love his way of putting things. SEE IT.

Oh man, free stuff?!

I love free stuff. Half the time I'll accept free things just 'cause they're free, and I might need it later. Free samples? I'm in! A few days ago there was a "lovely" computer desk by the elevator with a scrawled note offering the poor, rejected piece of furniture to anyone willing to drag it away. One side was falling off, and it's not the prettiest desk there is, but the price was right. And it just so happens I have a dude sleeping on my couch for the next couple months, who has been sitting on the floor for the past week to use his computer. So we dragged the thing back to my apartment, and he fixed it all up (if you count taking out all the shelves to make room for his computers "fixing").

This fall I get a lovely little studio for my senior year, and I need stuff to put in it. I'd planned to yard sale next saturday and look for a small desk/table, or goodwill if I had to. Something, anything, that wasn't too big and was cheap. Then today what do we find? Two more free pieces of furniture! Hooray! A small regular desk and an entertainment center.

A few pictures of our score:

The original computer desk. It's got all the shelves and stuff, but he took them out.

My new studio desk! Free is totally better than...well any price, except maybe if someone paid me to take it. It's the perfect size to fit in the studio, and I won't have to worry about trashing it with paint.

Ignore the douche with the gay rug. That tv is totally too small, BUT the tv was also free from a separate free-stuff score. We can't get everything arranged until the douche moves out, but we'll finally have real furniture. ...After we scrape those stupid stickers off.

AND, it's James St. James' birthday today. Have a cupcake and a cocktail!
