Gypsy Road

Well, what a day this has been. First things first, those digital sketches a couple posts back were supposed to be crit'd today, but the teacher decided on ANOTHER week to work on them. In part because most of the work brought in showed minimal effort. So I had nothing to do alllll day except do another sketch for it.



Tom Keifer of Cinderella. Technically this painting is already well underway, but shhhh. I dunno why I always picture Tom so sad/serious. Suppose it's because I don't think I have a single picture where he's smiling, and 'cause he can't help but pout with those lips. But I should do a painting for that reason I suppose. He has a really cute smile.

The background is more or less a placeholder. I think there will be a wall/corner there, but I dunno what else. Maybe I'll watch some Cinder vids for inspiration.

I have major love for John Currin at the moment. Not so much his subject matter, though I do find it funny, and I couldn't care less whether he hates women or not. But his technique in the smoother paintings is gorgeous.
